The Shield Plus Privacy Protector browser plug-in is advertised to add a customizable layer of security on top of your built-in browser safety measures. The Shield Plus Privacy Protector plug-in can be seen under the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' option of freeware installers and does not have an official website. The 'Plus' in Shield Plus Privacy Protector is used to attract users to install the app and notify them of its advanced functionality. However, you might wish to know that the services of Shield Plus Privacy Protector do not come for free, and you would have to tolerate many ads in your browser if you want its protection. Security investigators classify Shield Plus Privacy Protector as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that may not satisfy your needs and use tracking cookies that it is supposed to protect you from. The catch is that the advertisers supporting Shield Plus Privacy Protector will be given a green card to provide you with promotions on pop-up windows and banners. Despite using Shield Plus Privacy Protector, your PC will store DOM storage data that can be accessed by advertisers supporting Shield Plus Privacy Protector. Additionally, Shield Plus Privacy Protector may hyperlink words on web pages to sponsored content and change your default search provider, new tab, and home page settings. Security investigators reveal that the Shield Plus Privacy Protector plug-in is cross-compatible and will affect Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. You may be interested to know that Shield Plus Privacy Protector will not be installed in the Program Files directory that is typically used to store software. It will be loaded in the hidden ProgramData folder and may prove hard for manual removal. Fortunately, you could use the help of a trusted anti-spyware utility to remove all components of the Shield Plus Privacy Protector program.
