Searchgol Image
Searchgol is a browser hijacker that attacks Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer Internet browsers and accesses the affected computer without the target PC user's consent. Searchgol may modify the default search tool and homepage with Searchgol.com. Searchgol.com may appear as an authentic and secure search system; however, in actuality, it is a worthless search engine, which is not able to provide web users with trustworthy capabilities of the search provider. If the affected web user strives to perform online searches on Searchgol.com, he may see that the website carries a variety of commercial websites and often diverts him to suspicious advertisement websites against his will. Searchgol strives to increase traffic of the particular website and push it. Searchgol may make modifications onto the compromised Internet browser. Searchgol may trace what websites the PC user is visiting and what queries he is searching searching for. Searchgol may then transfer this information to cybercrooks, which may be used for marketing purposes. Searchgol comes packaged with a variety of freeware and shareware programs.
