Ransom-E Description

Ransom-E is a trojan virus that masquerades as a software installer, but in actuality, is nothing more than a tool to perform SMS fraud. Ransom-E is advertised on P2P networks, IRC channels, newsgroup postings, email spam and through other methods. Typically, Ransom-E performs a fabricated media player installation that then requires an SMS message to receive a certain activation code and to complete the installation process. Ransom-E should be removed as soon as possible after detection.
