PWS:HTML/Loyphish.G is a password-stealing Trojan, which propagates via an infected phishing website that conceals itself as a genuine online banking website. The fraudulent website strives to steal online banking information from the affected PC user by luring the victim into filling out the details in a form on a false website, and then transferring that information to remote cybercriminals. The bogus website that spreads PWS:HTML/Loyphish.G may use logos, images, and layouts that have been copied by the creators of PWS:HTML/Loyphish.G from a legal banking website. PWS:HTML/Loyphish.G can also proliferate via an email, which invites the PC user to fill in his/her online banking details. The infected phishing website is an HTML page that is usually hosted on hijacked or unsafe websites, which cybercriminals may strive to fool you to visit by clicking a link in an email. If a hijacked or malicious website is visited, PC users are rerouted to a website that hosts phishing pages that are then recognized as PWS:HTML/Loyphish.G.
