Pc-scanner-2011.net is a misleading webpage that promotes a fake anti-spyware application by the name of Cyber Security. Pc-scanner-2011.net uses a Trojan to spread to different computer systems. Once this Trojan has penetrated a vulnerable system, it will utilize its browser hijacking functionalities to modify a victim’s hosts file. This will cause the victim’s browser to constantly be redirected to pc-scanner-2011.net.

Once the victim is on the pc-scanner-2011.net webpage, a fake system scan will be conducted followed by exaggerated scan reports claiming that the victim’s computer is infested with malware. This is done to maliciously persuade a victim that he/she has a serious malware problem that can, purportedly, only be fixed with the purchase of the “licensed version” of Cyber Security. It is not advisable to download any software from Pc-scanner-2011.net as it is a malicious website.
