EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

NetWiredRC is a remote access Trojan or RAT. NetWiredRC may be used to gain complete control over a victim's computer. RATs like NetWiredRC essentially allow criminals to establish an unauthorized connection to the infected computer and then control it from a remote location. Using NetWiredRC, criminals may steal information from the infected computer, install other threats, spy on its activities and contents or control it directly. Because of this, NetWiredRC poses a severe threat to a computer. In most cases, NetWiredRC may infect a computer using social engineering strategies to deceive novice computer users into installing NetWiredRC. Malware researchers strongly recommend the use of a reliable anti-malware application to be sure that your machine is not vulnerable to Trojans like NetWiredRC.
Social Engineering Tricks Associated with NetWiredRC
In recent months, the Bitcoin market has been extremely volatile, with prices increasing and decreasing dramatically. Criminals have taken advantage of this by creating a threatening application that claims to help computer users track the Bitcoin market. In fact, the final goal of this application is to set up a version of NetWiredRC that allows criminals to steal Bitcoin wallet information from the affected computer. One aspect of this application that should immediately set off alarms is the fact that NetWiredRC is promoted using spam email messages. Spam email messages point to a website promoting an application called BitCoin Alarm that supposedly sends an SMS message to the computer user whenever there are changes in the Bitcoin market. In fact, this bogus application actually allows criminals to gain access to the infected computer and steal valuable information that may be used to steal the victim's money.
If you suspect that you have been exposed to NetWiredRC, make sure to run a full scan of your computer using a reliable, fully updated security program. Once you have removed the NetWiredRC infection, take steps to ensure that your Bitcoin wallet has not been compromised. If possible, change your login information to prevent a third party from accessing it using information stolen from your computer.
