EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

Need2Find is a browser hijacker that will take the form of a search bar on the computer user's Web browser. Need2Find will make every attempt to convince you that it is a useful utility for searching the Web and your hard drive. However, Need2Find may not provide any useful service and any possible benefit that it could give computer users is far outweighed by the many security issues and performance problems that may be linked to Need2Find and similar browser hijackers. Need2Find should be removed from an affected computer with the aid of an anti-malware application immediately.

Need2Find and Similar Browser Hijackers
The main purpose of software like Need2Find is to force affected Web browsers to visit certain websites automatically. This is done to inflate these websites' traffic and statistics, as well as generating advertising revenue at the expense of the computer users. Need2Find may make changes to the affected Web browser's settings, as well as affect the user's computer performance. Because of this, Need2Find should not be allowed to remain on an affected computer. Some of the issues that may be associated with Need2Find and similar browser hijackers include:
- Need2Find may make changes to your Web browser settings that allow Need2Find to change your homepage, default search engine, and new tab website to fake search engines associated with Need2Find. The main purpose of this is to force computer users to visit these websites repeatedly to generate advertisement revenue.
- Need2Find may cause significant performance problems on an affected computer. Need2Find will run in the background constantly, and may use system resources such as memory, CPU processing power and network bandwidth. This may cause the affected computers to slow down, freeze, or become unstable significantly. PC security analysts advise computer users to remove Need2Find to stop these performance issues.
- Need2Find may pester computer users with constant, irritating advertisements. Need2Find may cause affected Web browsers to display intrusive pop-up advertisements, insert banners into the websites viewed on the affected Web browser, and insert hyperlinks into text on websites that would otherwise not contain links.
- Need2Find may pose a risk to the computer users' online security. Need2Find is linked to tracking components that may be installed on the users' computers, which may keep track of their online browsing habits, search history, computer settings and other information. This data may be used for advertising and marketing purposes, and to deliver targeted advertisements to the computer user's Web browser.
Dealing with Need2Find
The best way to deal with Need2Find is to uninstall this unwanted component using the Windows Control Panel. In most cases, the option to remove this Web browser add-on will be disabled from the Web browser's extensions manager, but will still be available by using the Windows Control Panel 'Add and Remove Programs'. PC security analysts recommend that computer users ensure that their Web browser settings are reset to their defaults manually (for example, Need2Find may have changed the affected Web browser's default search engine and homepage to suspicious search engines and potentially harmful websites automatically). Since advertisements linked to Need2Find may lead computer users to potentially harmful online content, they should make sure that no threat or other unsafe components have managed to enter their computers. Because of this, following uninstallation of Need2Find from an affected PC, PC security researchers strongly advise that computer users perform a full scan of the affected machine with a reliable security program that is fully up-to-date.
