EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.

The Maincaptcha.top site operates in the usual manner observed with other rogue pages of this type. Its main purpose is to trick visitors into unknowingly enabling its push notifications. To mask its true intentions, the site shows various misleading and clickbait messages. Users should keep in mind that the exact scenario they see on these hoax sites could be based on their specific IP address, geolocation and possibly other factors.
When it was examined by infosec researchers, Maincaptcha.top claimed that users must pass a CAPTCHA check to access its actual content. The displayed messages may be similar to:
'Click 'Allow' to confirm that you are not a robot!'
As is usually the case, there is no additional content. Instead, users will start receiving numerous unwanted advertisements. The shown advertisements could promote dubious or even unsafe destinations, such as technical support or phishing tactics, shady adult-oriented pages, betting/gambling platforms and more. When interacting with the generated ads or at the moment that they press the 'Allow' button, users may also trigger forced redirects. In fact, Maincaptcha.top has been confirmed to cause exactly such redirects leading to an unsafe page running a version of the 'AMAZON TRIAL' Scam. These schemes are often presented as free giveaways, but turn out to be either phishing tactics or try to convince users to pay bogus 'shipping' or 'administration' fees.
