The Infonaut browser assistant claims that it allows you to search results faster than a rocket ship, but you may want to know that the Infonaut app is an ad-supported Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP). The Infonaut browser assistant may provide you with tools to search and translate information, but it will inject marketing materials in your web browser as well. The Infonaut search enhancer may appear on your 'Programs and Features' list and can use a Browser Helper Object, an add-on, and an extension to perform its operations. A careful read of Infonaut's 'Terms of Service' reveals that it can insert commercials as in-text hyperlinks and read the metadata of websites you are visiting. Moreover, Infonaut can monitor and record your browsing history as well as change your web browser settings to enable its full functionality. You should note that the Infonaut browser assistant functions as a gateway to third parties and clicks on ads by Infonaut are at your risk. Also, the Infonaut app can use HTTP, session and Flash cookies to optimize the relevance of the displayed advertisement content. Computer users might want to think twice whether to keep Infonaut on their PC or remove it with the help of a renowned anti-spyware solution.
