Genuine Microsoft Software Ransomware
Genuine Microsoft Software Ransomware is a virus/ransomware, otherwise known as a lock screen, which shows a falsified warning message that is allegedly sent by Microsoft and declares that your PC has been locked because you are using a pirated copy of Windows. Genuine Microsoft Software Ransomware blocks the attacked computer system and the desktop, so whenever the victim attempts to log on into the Windows OS or Safe Mode with Networking, it will show instead a pop-up alert urging the computer owner to pay a bogus legal fine of $4 to validate installation of Windows. If the PC user will pay the supposed legitimate fine of $4, all his/her credit card information is transmitted to scammers, and they will become victims of an identity theft. Target computer users will be diverted to another website, regcon.com, which will strive to automatically spend money on a downloadable application for $49.99. This program is a malicious tool, which will result in more problems on the corrupted PC. The pop-up alert illustrated by Genuine Microsoft Software Ransomware can be changed based on the location of the targeted computer, with the text created in the appropriate language. Genuine Microsoft Software Ransomware is used to swindle PC users out of their money; therefore, attacked PC users should not pay attention to the intimidating warning message and pay the ransom.
