G0dsito Business Screenlocker

The G0dsito Business malware threat has been identified as belonging to a ransomware subset known as screen lockers. These threats also aim to deprive users of being able to access their files stored on to compromised computer or device but they are far less threatening than full-fledged ransomware. After all, most screen lockers simply block the screen of the device with a fullscreen window without running encryption routines in the background. This means that all the files on the system are left intact. As such, in the majority of cases, users can circumvent the screen locker without much hassle, and fortunately for the victims of G0dsito Business, this threat is not an exemption. 

The cybercriminals operating the screen locker try to scare their victims with several phony warnings displayed within the screen used to lock the system. The note mentions that restarting the affected device will result in all stored data becoming unusable. According to the message, the only way to regain access is to buy the randomly created password needed to unlock the computer. As it turns out, however, both statements are completely false. First, instead of damaging the files, restarting the system will get rid of the locker screen and users will have full access to everything on their computers. Secondly, the password needed to get rid of the screen locker is not random at all. Infosec researchers have discovered that typing alvaro123 in the password field will neutralize the threat.
