Entireweb.com

Entireweb.com is a dubious search engine that is being promoted through a browser hijacker application. This is a typical tactic employed by search engines as, otherwise, they would see only minimal levels of traffic; after all, few users would be willing to rely on an unproven engine. The browser hijacker, like the rest of the PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) attempts to sneak itself onto the user's computer or device without attracting any attention.

If it is deployed successfully, it would use its intrusive functionality to take control over the installed Web browsers. More specifically, it will modify the homepage, new tab page and the default search engine settings. By doing so, the browser hijacker will ensure that whenever the affected browser is launched, a new tab is started, or the user initiates a search via the URL bar, it would open the promoted address immediately.

Relying on dubious search engines should be avoided. Typically, they cannot produce any results and will rely on a legitimate engine to do the work for them. However, in some cases, users may be shown inaccurate or low-quality results that could include numerous sponsored ad links.

Furthermore, PUPs and fake search engines are known for spying on the user's browsing activities. The browsing history, search history, clicked links, IP address, geolocation, and more could be transmitted to a remote server controlled by the PUP's operators continuously.
