CoordinatorPlus

CoordinatorPlus presents itself as a legitimate and useful application that could improve the user experience on Mac computers. However, the truth is that the application is classified by infosec researchers as adware and a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program). PUPs are applications that rely on deceptive marketing methods to spread themselves because users are extremely unlikely to download and install them intentionally.

Once CoordinatorPlus is established on the user's Mac system, it will proceed to run an intrusive advertising campaign in an attempt to monetize its presence and generate profits for its creators. The immediate effect of the appearance of these dubious advertisements will be a severely diminished user experience. In extreme cases, the advertisements could lead to browser slowdowns, freezes and even crashes.

Clicking on any of the pop-ups, banners, surveys, etc. presented by CoordinatorPlus could initiate forced redirects that take the user to questionable third-party websites. Among these destinations could be domains distributing additional PUPs or pages dedicated to running phishing and technical support tactics.

It is recommended to remove all PUPs from your computer as soon as you notice the first signs of their presence. The best method to make sure that your Mac is clean is to run a scan with a reputable anti-malware solution and then remove all detected applications.
