Brkdown.com is a deceptive tactic that runs various schemes in an attempt to trick users into downloading fake applications, PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), or even compromised applications carrying malware threats such as Trojans or ransomware. The latest scenario observed to be acted by the Brkdown.com website is to pretend that the user's iPhone or other Apple device has been damaged by a malware threat severely. In fact, according to the fake error message, 19 viruses have somehow managed to cause 59% damage to the user's BROWSER?! Apart from that statement-making no sense at all, users should keep in mind that no website can conduct a scan of their device on its own.
The fake scary-sounding claims made by Brkdown.com do not stop here, though. The website also warns users that their Facebook account, WhatsApp messages, and photos stored on the device will be compromised and stolen. Apparently, the only way to prevent that outcome is to install whatever PUP is being pushed by the tactic currently. All of the information found on Brkdown.com is fake and misleading and users should simply ignore it altogether.
If you notice that the redirects to Brkdown.com are reaching abnormal levels, you may want to check your Apple device for any potential adware that might be lurking inside it. The best way to do so is to scan the device using a reputable anti-malware solution.
