BlissFresh

BlissFresh is an invasive application that many Mac users may not recall installing on their devices. This is a common occurrence when dealing with PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs). These applications have dubious functionalities that often include those of adware and browser hijackers. As such, PUPs are rarely distributed through the normal channels. Instead, their operators rely on tactics that mask the fact that the application will be installed on the device with two of the most frequently encountered being shady software bundles and fake installers/updates.

In addition, cybersecurity specialists have determined that BlissFresh belongs to the prolific AdLoad adware family. The applications from this family are mostly designed to monetize their presence on users' Macs by running annoying ad campaigns. While still installed on the Mac, BlissFresh could continuously generate questionable and potentially risky advertisements. Users could be presented with advertising materials for suspicious adult-oriented platforms or shady online gaming/betting sites. The promoted destinations also may include various tactics, fake giveaways and even phishing pages.

Adware and other PUPs also are often designed to spy on users' browsing activities. They could be able to extract data, such as the browsing and search histories, clicked URLs, IP addresses, geolocation, device types, OS types, and possibly more, and then exfiltrate it to a server under the control of their operators.
