AlbDecryptor Ransomware

The AlbDecryptor Ransomware is a new threat that has been unleashed in the wild. The AlbDecryptor Ransomware behavior is that of typical ransomware - it locks the infected users' files with an uncrackable algorithm and then extorts them for money in exchange for the decryption key. The AlbDecryptor Ransomware marks all files it has encrypted by appending '.locked' to their original names as a new extension. This particular word has already been used by several ransomware threats in the past. 

The ransom note of AlbDecryptor is displayed only as a pop-up window as the threat doesn't create any text files on the compromised device. The instructions from the hackers reveal that they want to receive a minimum of $100 paid using the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. The sum must be transferred to the crypto wallet address provided in the ransom note. After sending the money, affected users are told to establish contact by writing an email to the 'hackcore55@gmail.com' address.

To further push its victims into paying, AldDecryptor's pop-up window is equipped with a countdown timer that starts at 60 minutes. When the time is over, several of the user's encrypted files are supposed to be deleted. After that, the timer resets and every hour more files will be deleted.
