Adware Scanner 2010 is a rogue anti-spyware application that uses scare tactics to prompt users into purchasing its "full version". Once the trail version of Adware Scanner 2010 has entered a PC, it will simulate a fake system scan and report the detection of dangerous malware. Adware Scanner 2010 will also display fake security alerts and pop-ups in an attempt to alarm the user and coerce him/her into purchasing its "full version". Additionally, Adware Scanner 2010 will hijack Internet Explorer and redirect the victim's browser to malicious websites.
