Active Security is a fake anti-spyware application created to crook users into purchasing it. Active Security may spread via malicious Trojans, drive-by-downloads or it can be downloaded directly from its website. Similarly to most rogueware, once inside your system, Active Security will conduct a fake system scan. The scan will report fabricated results of an infestation of malware on your computer followed by the excessive display of multiple pop-up adverts.

All results from the Active Security scan are not to be trusted, and by no means should you purchase the rogue application. The presence of Active Security on your PC may result in slow system operation, browser redirections and the disabling of Task Manager and System Restore. Immediately removing Active Security from your PC is strongly advised.

Type: Rogue AntiSpyware Programs
