Protection System
O Protection System é um aplicativo anti-spyware desonesto, originário da família FakeCog (CoreGuard), a mesma família à qual pertence o falso removedor de spyware chamado CoreGuard Antivirus 2009. Ele se infiltra no computador através de vulnerabilidades de segurança e backdoors, fornecidas por Trojans afiliados. Uma vez ativo, o Protection System vai estar configurado para ser iniciado automaticamente, levando o usuário a executar uma falsa varredura online. Quando essa varredura estiver concluída, serão exibidos relatórios fabricados de infecção, geralmente para intimidar o usuário e faze-lo comprar o falso removedor de spyware do Protection System.
O Protection System tem vários clones entreos membros da sua família, que incluem PC Protection Center 2008, CoreGuard Antivirus 2009, Paladin Antivirus, Dr.Guard, User Protection, Your Protection, Digital Protection, Data Protection, Protection Center, Defense Center, AnVi, PC Protection Center, Malware Protection Center, Adware.PCProtectionCenter.
