WinXDefender is a rogue anti-spyware program that can either be installed upon your computer via Trojans, or manually. After the installation, and once WinXDefender is active, it begins to generate exaggerated reports pertaining to infections on your system. Numerous pop-up security notifications will start to bombard your computer, prompting you to ensure your system is safe with a free WinXDefender trial. You are then asked to purchase the full version of the software in order to remove all the infections safely, however, and this is important to note, typically these reported infections are fictitious, while WinXDefender is undeniably fraudulent and will not help to protect your computer. There is even a good chance that installing WinXDefender onto your computer will cause even more malware, such as trojans and browser hijackers, to be installed.
