A Description of the Product Sold at Ultimblock.com Website

The Ultimblock.com website advertises and sells Ultim Block, a known rogue security program. Ultim Block has dozens of different clones, with new ones appearing every few days since the Spring of 2011. Some known clones of Ultim Block include Bogema Security, Antivirus Edition, Eclipse Antivirus, Windows Defender, Ultimate Guard, ULTIM Security, and Ultimate Defender. Each of these rogue security programs is associated with a website similar to Ultimblock.com (e.g. bogemasecurity.com, windowsdef.com). Ultim Block is marketed as a legitimate security program, but really has no security capabilities. Any supposed functionality offered by Ultim Block or advertised on Ultimblock.com is supposedly blocked until the computer user decides to purchase a "license" to use this rogue security program. ESG security researchers warn against paying for Ultim Block; there are hundreds of reports of fraudulent credit card charges that occurred after victims entered their credit card information into Ultimblock.com website. Because of this, if you have already paid for Ultim Block, whether directly in the program or at Ultimblock.com website, ESG security researchers recommend calling your credit card company and blocking the charges.

If this website isn't contained in your anti-malware program's blacklist, you should also add Ultimblock.com manually. If you have downloaded any software from the domain Ultimblock.com, it is not enough to delete the files, or remove them through the Add/Remove Programs tool in the Control Panel; you will have to take further steps to make sure Ultim Block is completely gone from your computer. ESG malware researchers recommend starting up Windows in Safe Mode and then using a legitimate anti-malware tool to remove Ultim Block and all of its associated files.
