Trojan.Pidief Description
Trojan.Pidief is a damaging Trojan infection that is a part of an unsolicited email which carries a compressed .htm (HTML) attachment supposedly sent by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The title of the spam email is ‘Update your banking account’, and the message reports that your Wire and ACH transactions have been temporarily suspended. The fake email encourages PC users to open the attached document for more information which if opened and run corrupts the machine by Trojan.Pidief. The bogus email also encompasses a hidden JavaScript in the coding of the file. The goal of the JavaScript is to reroute the compromised web browser to doubtful web page in Russia which distributes Trojan.Pidief. Trojan.Pidief may install compressed infected files onto the targeted PC system and open backdoors that enable cybercriminals to obtain remote access and control over the infected computer system. Trojan.Pidief can trace your online activities and steal your personal information. Trojan.Pidief can download and install additional malware threats.
