WinAntispyware2008 Description

WinAntispyware2008, also known as Win Antispyware 2008, is a rogue anti-spyware application usually installed on the user’s computer system by a Trojan Vundo, Virus or rogue software, through security breaches or other dubious mechanisms. WinAntispywandare2008 infects users without their knowledge and permission and will attempt to trick the user into buying the full WinAntispyware2008 version of the program. WinAntispyware2008’s common tactics to persuade the user may be bogus system notifications or fake security alerts stating that the computer is infected with a large amount of spyware. WinAntispyware2008 will state that in order to remove the supposed threats the user should purchase the commercial version. WinAntispyware2008 causes computer to slow down and even instability. WinAntispyware2008 is a threat to the user’s personal and financial data. WinAntispyware2008 may be difficult to remove manually.

Description

WinFix Master Description

WinFix Master is a rogue anti-spyware application known to supposedly remove spyware from user’s computer system. WinFix Master is a scam and all it does is interfere with user’s workflow, by causing system slowdowns and even instability.

WinFix Master infects user’s computer system by a Trojan Zlob or Vundu, found on a video codec download or a dubious website, through browser security loopholes. Once installed, WinFix Master will emulate a fake system scan and display a list of bogus scan results stating that the computer is infected with a large amount of spyware. In addition, WinFix Master will generate an enormous amount of annoying popups and fake system notifications to trick the user into purchasing the full version of the program. Once the user clicks on one of these messages, he will be redirected to WinFix Master’s website to buy the full WinFix Master commercial version to remove the supposed threats.

Proofile Toolbar Description

Proofile Toolbar is a malicious Toolbar that may come bundled with other malware. Proofile Toolbar usually installs itself as a Browser Helper Object (BHO), adding a search bar to user’s computer browser, usually just below or next to the browser’s address bar. Proofile Toolbar may also have buttons that are links to advertisers’ web pages. Once Proofile Toolbar is installed, it may track user’s online activity in order to display a large amount of ads that are meant to be relevant to the user. Proofile Toolbar may also send the collected data to a remote third party for malicious purposes. Proofile Toolbar is related to Softomate Toolbar.

PestSweeper Description

PestSweeper or Pest Sweeper, is a rogue anti-spyware application known by its scare tactics to push users into buying a fake program. PestSweeper is usually installed by a Trojan Zlob or Vundo without the user’s knowledge. Once installed, PestSweeper will generate fake error messages informing the user about fake system infections. PestSweeper’s fake messages may read: “Malware and harmful software were found” and to click on the ‘OK’ button to remove the supposed threats. If the user clicks on one of PestSweeper’s messages, he will be redirected to PestSweeper’s website (PestSweeper.com) to download the full PestSweeper commercial version. PestSweeper may cause computer slowdowns and is a risk to the user’s personal and financial information.

ConfidentUser Description

ConfidentUser is a rogue anti-spyware application designed to mislead users with bogus system scans and scan results into buying a program that doesn’t solve what it promises to deliver. ConfidentUser may be installed on the user’s computer system by a Trojan, which causes deceptive warning messages of imaginary security and privacy risks. These messages will state that the computer is infected with a large amount of spyware, when it is not. ConfidentUser’s scare tactics are used in an attempt to push the user into purchasing ConfidentUser’s commercial version. ConfidentUser may be difficult to remove manually.

Registry Patrol Description

Registry Patrol is a rogue registry cleaner and repair utility known to safely clean, optimize and repair your Windows operating registry. Registry Patrol is said to remove system problems, such as error messages, crashes and computer slowdowns. However, due to its inaccurate results, which are not 100% reliable, we have considered Registry Patrol a menace to the security of your personal and financial information. Registry Patrol exaggerates threat’s risk levels found on your computer system. For instance, Registry Patrol will consider missing shortcuts as a High threat. Furthermore, Registry Patrol will include itself as part of the threat results found from the computer system scan, clearly stating, that Registry Patrol is a threat itself. In addition, some features found on Registry Patrol, such as Load on startup, don’t work at all. Other program errors displayed on the generated scan are fake, once you check the registry lines, you’ll discover that programs are working fine.

Trojan.Downloader.Agent.tyx Description

Trojan.Downloader.Agent.tyx is a Trojan application that downloads and installs additional malware to the user’s computer. Trojan.Downloader.Agent.tyx is known to be associated with various rogue anti-spyware programs. Once installed on the user’s computer, Trojan.Downloader.Agent.tyx may download and install additional malware. Trojan.Downloader.Agent.tyx may also generate a large numbers of popup adverts.

Trojan.Downloader.Agent.uaf Description

Trojan.Downloader.Agent.uaf is a Trojan that may install secretly in order to infect computers with malware. Trojan.Downloader.Agent.uaf infects computers through security exploits and other deceptive methods. Trojan.Downloader.Agent.uaf breaks into the user’s system and grants access to a third party who can then take control of the computer, steal personal information or damage the system.

Trojan.Downloader.Mutant is considered a threat to the security of your personal and financial data.

Trojan.Dialer.qi is a Trojan dialer program which installs in the user’s computer system through browser security breach or may come bundled with other malware. Once Trojan.Dialer.qi is installed, it may disconnect the user from its dial-up ISP and reconnect to expensive toll phone number. Trojan.Dialer.qi’s malicious activities will lead to an exaggerated phone bill.

Trojan.Agent.kkp Description

Trojan.Agent.kkp is a Trojan installed through a security exploit or other dubious mechanisms. Trojan.Agent.kkp installs in the user’s computer system and opens a channel, facilitating the download of large amounts of adware and spyware.
