Invalid Username and Password Message
If you are getting the message “Invalid Username and Password” when you try to upgrade SpyHunter read the article below and find out different reasons why this could be happening.
Reason #1: Wrong Username and Password in the SpyHunter Settings.
This is actually the most common reason for the message “Invalid Username and Password”.
To fix this problem, please check the “SpyHunter Settings”.

Note: It’s very important that you re-enter your account info, even if you see that you already have entered your username and password on the “SpyHunter Setting”. In most cases, the password is wrong and you cannot see it.
Reason #2: You have capitol letters in your username or password.
Our system is case sensitive. If you have capitol letters in your username and/or password, make sure you type it exactly the way see it in the email that you got with your account information.
If you are uncertain of your account information, log onto our support section, open a problem ticket and choose the Problem Type “Account Information”. Your username and password will be immediately sent to your email.
Reason #3: You have special characters in your password.
Our system does not accept special characters in the password.
The following symbols are examples of special characters: ( ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( _ +
If you have a special character in your password, please log onto our support section, open a trouble ticket and request a password change. Please remember to inform the new password that you would like to have in your account.
Reason #4: Your Account is Expired.
If you have SpyHunter v.1 series or purchased Spyhunter v.2 prior to April 1st 2005, and you are getting a message saying “Invalid Username and/or Password”, you may have your subscription expired.
Some old versions of the SpyHunter do not prompt you for renewal.
To fix this problem, go to Download/Install Instructions for SpyHunter and follow the instructions below to download the last version of the SpyHunter and get prompted for renewal if your account has expired.
Also, Enigma Software Group, Inc. will not automatically re-bill your credit card. You will be prompted to renew your subscription when it expires.
You cannot renew your subscription before the expiration date.
As of March 10th 2005, we no longer provide support or updates for the SpyHunter 1 series. All customers that purchased SpyHunter 1 series will receive a free fully functioning version of SpyHunter 2.0 until Jun 10th 2005.
After June 10th 2005, all Spyhunter 1 series customers must renew their subscription in order to get updates and technical support.
To view your expiration date, click on “HOME” on the top of the page, enter your username (email) and password and click on “Login”.
You will be directed to the download page, where you can see all the information about your account, including the expiration date.
