Antivirus 2008 Description

Antivirus 2008 or Antivirus2008 is a rogue anti-spyware program created to trick users with alerts and misleading scan results into purchasing the full version of the program. Antivirus 2008 is usually downloaded and installed by a Trojan that sneaks through browser security holes, and can be found on porn websites. The trojan that comes bundled with the video codec is known as Zlob. Once installed, Antivirus 2008 will display notifications of imaginary security and privacy risks. Antivirus 2008 may also run system scans that display bogus results.

These fake alert messages have titles such as “Warning!”, “Critical System Error!” or “Your Computer Is Infected” to convince you that your computer is in danger and that you must click on the “Remove all threats now” button to fix the problem. Antivirus 2008 displays these results in an attempt to deceive users into purchasing the full Antivirus 2008 program. Antivirus 2008 comes from the same makers of Antivirus 2008 Pro and IE Antivirus.

WinSpywareProtect Description

WinSpywareProtect is a rogue anti-spyware application created to trick computer users into purchasing the full WinSpywareProtect version. WinSpywareProtect is usually downloaded and installed by a Trojan, through browser security holes, or via other unconventional and unethical mechanisms. Once installed, WinSpywareProtect may display misleading warning messages that popup on your Taskbar stating that the user’s computer is infected with dangerous parasites. WinSpywareProtect may also generate system slowdown and instability. This program can be extremely difficult to manually remove.

RBot Trojan Description

RBot Trojan is a malicious Trojan application created to infect computer’s system with spyware and adware. RBot Trojan usually installs through exploitation of networks. Once installed, RBot Trojan hijacks the computer and opens security holes, which makes the computer vulnerable and exposes your personal and financial data to remote hackers. RBot Trojan may also allow third parties to execute programs and download additional malware.

Trojan.Cinmeng Description

Trojan.Cinmeng is a Trojan downloader, believed to originate from China. Once installed on the user’s computer, Trojan.Cinmeng will download and install additional malware, and will also display large numbers of popup adverts. Trojan.Cinmeng may also use ambiguous filenames to mislead people into thinking that it is a part of PC Tools (a legitimate security product).

RegistryGreat Description

RegistryGreat is a rogue registry cleaner application designed to scare the user with fake spyware or registry errors into purchasing the RegistryGreat program. RegistryGreat is often downloaded and installed by Trojan.Zlob. Once installed, RegistryGreat may display notifications of imaginary security and privacy risks claiming that the user’s computer is infected. RegistryGreat may also display excessive popup ads that may generate system slowdown and instability. RegistryGreat can be extremely difficult to manually remove.

Adware.Ejik Description

Adware.Ejik is an adware application that implants itself on the user’s computer. Adware.Ejik may hijack user’s browsing habits and search keywords and then display advertisements that supposedly interest the user. Once installed, Adware.Ejik launches at system startup and may download files that generate irritating pop-ups/pop-under, causing computer and Internet connection slowdowns. Due to Adware.Ejik’s malicious activities, user’s personal and financial information may be at risk. In addition, Adware.Ejik has the ability to recreate itself, making it difficult to remove manually.

Trojan.Farfli Description

Trojan.Farfli is a Trojan that may download and install additional malware to the user’s computer. Trojan.Farfli may also display large amounts of popup advertising, and can modify the Internet Explorer start and search pages.

Rootkit.Agent.NCK Description

Rootkit.Agent.NCK is a threatening Trojan application that uses advanced rootkit techniques to sneak through most anti-virus and anti-spyware programs. Rootkit.Agent.NCK downloads and installs additional malware to the user’s computer system. Rootkit.Agent.NCK may also generate unwanted advertising.

Trojan.BlackBird Description

Trojan.BlackBird, Blackbird Trojan or Trojan.Win32.BlackBird, is an outdated Trojan threat now abused by rogue anti-spyware applications, such as IEDefender and IEAntivirus.

Trojan-Downloader.Cntr.v Description

Trojan-Downloader.Cntr.v is a Trojan application that downloads and installs additional malware to the user’s computer. Trojan-Downloader.Cntr.v is known to be associated with various rogue anti-spyware programs. Once installed on the user’s computer, Trojan-Downloader.Cntr.v may download and install additional malware. Trojan-Downloader.Cntr.v may also generate a large numbers of popup adverts.

Adware.ContextProgram.BHO Description

Adware.ContextProgram.BHO is a Trojan designed to infiltrate in the user’s computer and open a conduit by which large amounts of adware and spyware can be installed to the computer system. Adware.ContextProgram.BHO opens up a large security hole on the user’s system and grants access to a third party who can then take control of the computer, steal personal information or damage the system. Adware.ContextProgram.BHO is a very dangerous threat to the security of the user’s personal and financial data.

Adware.Okcashbackmall Description

Adware.Okcashbackmall or Okcashbackmall is an adware application. Okcashbackmall is often distributed via a malicious website (okcashbackmall.com). Once you visit www.okcashbackmall.com, you will be offered to install an ActiveX plugin on your system. If you accept, the website will install Okcashbackmall, an intrusive adware application. As soon as Okcashbackmall is installed, it will bombard your desktop with large amounts of extremely intrusive pop-up advertisements, thus interfering with your workflow. Removal of this malware is strongly recommended.
