Real Registry Cleaner is a fake registry cleaner, which is distributed by adaptive Trojans, fake online scanner web pages, or fake video codecs. Fake anti-spyware programs like Real Registry Cleaner are meant to deceive Internet users into paying for its nonexistent full version. Once a Trojan bundled with Real Registry Cleaner has successfully installed on a compromised PC, it will modify system settings to redirect the web browser to a web page containing Real Registry Cleaner and overwhelm the computer with fake pop-up registry error messages and similar security alerts.
