Mysearchengine.ru is perceived by many users as a low-quality search service when compared to Google, Yahoo and Bing. Security experts agree that the lack of HTTPS encryption on Mysearchengine.ru is a cause for concern and you should avoid entering information in the search bar at Mysearchengine.ru. The primary function of Mysearchengine.ru may appear to be the provision of results related to your search criteria. However, most of the code on the front page is dedicated to advertising and better product placement. Mysearchengine.ru may offer free services but its operators still need to pay for Internet bandwidth, server costs and staff. That is why many search services like Mysearchengine.ru and Search.bearshare.com rely on the support of advertisers that wish to present visitors with promotional materials. At first glance, there is nothing out of the ordinary but researchers note that Mysearchengine.ru is using trademarked logos by Google Inc. without a license and engage in false representation of their services.
Moreover, Mysearchengine.ru is a clone of Searchgoog.ru and both are linked to cases of browser hijacking. The search services at Mysearchengine.ru and Searchgoog.ru are identical and are hosted on the same IP address, which is 87.236.19.48. Apparently, the managers of both portals are not too happy with Web filters like the Google SafeBrowsing and the Mozilla Phishing Protection alerting users of suspicious activity on their portals. Security researchers add that users who visit Mysearchengine.ru may be redirected to a phishing portal named jabuy.ru. The browser hijacker related to Mysearchengine.ru may have arrived on your PC with a free program bundle and alter your Internet settings in Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera and Mozilla Firefox. Mysearchengine.ru provides results in text and image formats only. Web surfers need to reconsider using Mysearchengine.ru for their activities online and use a trusted anti-spyware tool to eradicate browser hijacking software that may affect their PCs.
