The MyDigitalCalendar software from Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. is perceived as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP). The MyDigitalCalendar app is an ad-supported browser extension that is available for free download at h[tt]p://www.mydigitalcalendar[.]com/index.jhtml and h[tt]ps://chrome.google[.]com/webstore/detail/mydigitalcalendar/jcnijlipdlfgjojinphboifjbedkkjpk. The MyDigitalCalendar browser extension is promoted to help users manage events, appointments, and important meetings via a customized new tab page. As you may expect, the MyDigitalCalendar extension is programmed to modify your new tab page settings and redirect your browser to h[tt]p://hp.myway.com/mydigitalcalendar/ttab02/. The IE and Firefox versions of MyDigitalCalendar change the start page and default search provider to h[tt]p://hp.myway.com/mydigitalcalendar/ttab02/, in addition to making your new tab load h[tt]p://hp.myway.com/mydigitalcalendar/ttab02/ by default. The following privileges are requested by MyDigitalCalendar upon installation:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Replace the page you see when opening a new tab.
- Read and change your browsing history.
- Manage your downloads.
- Manage your apps, extensions and themes.
- Detect your physical location.
- Change your search settings to hp.myway.com.
- Change your star tpage to hp.myway.com/mydigitalcalendar.
The MyDigitalCalendar extension from Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. may make unwanted changes to your Internet settings and perform browser redirects to h[tt]p://int.search[.]myway.com. Many of Mindspark's products are designed to provide a custom search functionality by Myway.com and users are not offered the option to switch to a competing search engine. Web surfers who may not be familiar with Myway.com and do not value its services may not be satisfied with how the MyDigitalCalendar extension works. Also, the new tab from Myway.com/mydigitalcalendar may include targeted promotional materials from sponsors to Mindspark. The company is known to use the user data and improve its ad revenue. PC users who are not happy about Mindspark keeping track of their online activity may want to remove the MyDigitalCalendar extension and related tracking cookies by using a credible anti-spyware scanner.
