Music Box Toolbar is an unwanted toolbar/browser hijacker, which is advertised via other freeware (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) downloads that had packed into their installation Music Box Toolbar. While being installed on a compromised PC, Music Box Toolbar may embed the Music Box Toolbar, substitute the default homepage with Home.tb.ask.com and the default search tool with Search.tb.ask.com. Music Box Toolbar may display disturbing pop-up ads and sponsored links in search results of any genuine search engine and may grab search phrases from a target computer user's search queries. Music Box Toolbar may be used to boost traffic of the specific advertisement website and make a profit from the pay-per-click technique. Music Box Toolbar may also be packed within the custom installer on many doubtful download websites, so if the Internet user has downloaded a specific software product from an unprotected download website, Music Box Toolbar might have been also installed throughout the setup process of the particular application.
