KeepersExt software may appear on your 'Programs and Features' list after the installation of a freeware package via the 'Express' or 'Typical' option. The KeepersExt program is deemed by security experts as adware that uses a plugin to display marketing materials in your Internet browser. The KeepersExt plugin is dispersed among users by adware developers that aim to monetize clicks by users of infected PCs. The KeepersExt adware can be viewed as a private advertisement platform that may use banners, ad boxes, in-text hyperlinks and pop-ups to promote products and services by sponsors. The KeepersExt adware may place its DLL files in the AppData and ProgramData files of Windows under random names. Additionally, the KeepersExt adware may add a registry key in Windows to auto-start with your OS and update its components if necessary. Adware such as the KeepersExt may record your IP address, online history, typed URLs and search terms in order to show related commercials. Many users that want to keep their clicks on the Internet private may not approve of the activities by the KeepersExt adware. You might want to purge the KeepersExt adware by using a reputable anti-spyware application.
