Internet Security 2010 is a rogue anti-spyware application that can be compared to other fake security tools such as its predecessor called Advanced Virus Remover. Internet Security 2010, through the use of deceiving tactics, is able to persuade computer users to purchase a full version of the Internet Security 2010 program. Some of these methods include conducting fake system scans that return bogus parasite results or displaying several false alert messages that attempt to warn users of a detected threat.

Internet Security 2010 should never be used for detection or removal of parasites because it will do nothing but disappoint. If Internet Security 2010 is detected, then it should be a priority to remove it before it is able to damage essential files or the system registry.

Type: Rogue AntiSpyware Programs

  3. TJH TJH Says:

Crashed my system. Have to bring it to the shop.

  4. Donald Donald Says:

It is ashame that these people can not be shut down. They should be arrested for internet terrorism. It took me all day to get it off my computer losing prductivity and losing buisness while my computer was tied up all day. I removed it using AVG and Ad Aware free programs. Why doesnt someone send them a virus and burn up there equipment. Fair Play, fight fire with fire. What is our goverment doing about it?

  5. PCDudeX PCDudeX Says:

I had a problem with this for a couple days. But if you work with it and follow instructions on how to remove it, you will eventually have it out of your system. I had to do numorous amounts of scans. It finally gave up. I avoided having to format my HDD. :)

  6. Ann Petersen Ann Petersen Says:

This part-virus rogue application trashed my sister’s computer. I found out from our computer tech that every time it pops up on your computer, and you use your mouse to click on ANY of Internet Security 2010’s so-called “warning windows,” it AUTOMATICALLY INSTALLS ON YOU COMPUTER! So if it pops up, use the power button to shut down immediately. Then re-boot and use a malware program to get rid of it. If it is too far advanced on your computer, yes, you WILL have to wipe your hard drive. The people who make applications like this should be burned at the stake!

All of a sudden, this Internet Security 2010 pop up on my screen and infected it. Had a few hardboot and was unable to operate the computer. Had to buy this scum application for $49.95, otherwise, I can’t get rid of. The worst part of it, when the payment by the credit was submitted, the default payment was $109.85 instead of $49.95. The vendor is taskbar-hide(dot)com.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM… Please let us know where we should report these scums..

Trashed my system Christmas Day. US Bank told me “tough sh**…you agreed to the payment.” I agreed to a $49.00 ransom (after 4 hours of nightmare)and then was charged $79.90 and $99.90 and $109.85 before I cancelled my card. My computer was toast after the download of “purchased” Internet Security 2010 program. US Bank said file a dispute if it will make you feel better. Problem is, these pieces of sh** ar in Riga Latvia. US Bank has no jurisdiction in Latvia and “…I agreed to the charges.” I am leaving US Bank immediately. The US is falling when we cannot even protect our citizens from Latvia! Who rides with me?

Gentlemen the company that makes this garbage in also and located and set up in London in the UK. They have a loose office of rip off artists working for them there in London. One I believe even works for a local company TESCO as his real job in their offices. They have an actual office there in London. Their banking is routed through Latvia to rip us off. They use not only fake web sites and searches submitted to google to install the software as part of a web page loading but also use free MP3 offers, email and add ons to MYspace.
My poison was an email sent by what I believe was this Tesco asshole David.

Their newest version attacks and renders useless Malware Bytes removal software and Stopzilla. It blocks AVG, Malware bytes and Stopzilla from updating.

They are organized, many of the US based websites that install this rogue are registered and run by recent Russian immigrants to this country. Most of these list addresses in New York City, London in the UK and even some small towns in the US.
They have several (( associate )) marketers who share in the profits of ripping us off. I lost four computers and months worth of work due to these terrorists. I would love to find this vermin and cut their fingers off with bolt cutters and end their programming days.

Everyone should email and PHYSICALLY Call the FBI Computer crimes division in the US. Email New Scotland Yard in the UK as well as the US embassy in the UK to put pressure on these people and shut them down as they are by definition an organized crime operation!! Call every day, politicians should be called as well, the squeaky wheel will get some grease and these filthy euro trash dirt bags will pay.

    support@is2010-support (dot)com
is their mailing to demand a refund, i have yet to recieve it but they sent me a letter back after i demanded it saying it would take 4-5 days. Any how there is a program called rkill that you can down load which will stop the virus and allow you to use your other programs to update and remove it. AVG was able to remove this crap after rkill paralized it.

Internet Security 2010 is yet another rogue anti-spyware that surfaced online. The Internet Security 2010 rogue is also a bit of a virus, if you follow the standard definition. But the thing you need to know is that Internet Security 2010 will try to trick you into believing that your computer has serious security problems so that you buy the program.

  19. Nolan Nolan Says:

I am Nolan (age 14) and these scum-bag cyber-terrorists have me up a WALL! Really, I doubt the Government will do anything about it… I think that the only DECENT solution is to send these people some ‘Grade A’ Viruses, crash thier systems. Maybe some conterfck would work? Only problem is if they have backed up this damnable program. And they probably have, seeing as how they are so organized. Really, Satan must have coded this thing. I’m trying to use ‘Malware Bytes’ under suggestion from our neighbor who works with computers, but it says that I need a system higher than Windows 2000, even tohugh I’m using Windows XP. I suspect this may actually be the IS2010 blocking me from bringing it to it’s knees. I may attempt to use some of the methods others have used, and maybe my Norton can clear it up, although I doubt it.

I would like it to be known that we got this virus from Facebook. My sister was on it and clicked a link she got from her friend. This link was to a ‘quiz’, and when she clicked it, we got a error message, and this blasphemy here came into our computer and started it’s reign of terror.

It’s giving us notices of ‘remote machines’ attacking our computer, and listing IP Adresses. It is also claiming we have a Trojan, and a BUNCH of Viruses, Trojans, Malware, and Worms. (Of course, the only REAL malware is IS2010)

If anyone finds out any new info or GREAT ways of stopping it (aside from Malware Bytes, since it seems to have been blocked…) E-Mail me

Had 2009 on my system and as can be expected, about two months before the subscription was up, it started slowing down and showing “EMERGENCY RE-SUBSCRIBE” warnings. I wasn’t about to until my scrip was up.

Finally, two days before the scrip was up I did subscribe for 2010 suite.

DO NOT DO THIS! THERE ARE WARNINGS OUT THERE ABOUT PEOPLE WHO SELL YOU SPY/MALWARE SECURITY SYSTEMS . . .

THAT ARE ACTUALLY PUTTING THE MALWARE ON YOUR SYSTEM!!!!!!!

Almost lost my computer, but have been there before, so removed it in time and installed a reputable system that corrected all of what Suite did to my computer.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO 2010 SUITE!!!!!! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND THEY LIE, LIE, LIE.

  21. Fred Fred Says:

I was infested by this crap software and was able to rid my machine of it by doing a Windows Restore to a previous date. I started my machine and hit F8 to bring up Windows in Safe Mode, then went to System Restore and selected a date several days ago to insure the date was prior to getting infected. Also went into Program Files folder and deleted IS2010 folder, and also deleted the icon from my Desktop folder. I then restarted my machine and everything was back to normal with no Internet Security 2010.

I removed the IS2010 folder manually and ran AVG free, which I thought had removed it completely. But then on restart I’m taken into an endless login loop that won’t let me in at all. No clue what to do next. Can these thieves be found and fried? We can only hope.

  25. PO PO'd Says:

Here is one for everyone out there. My desktop (using laptop for this) was infected with the lovely IS2010. After the many suggestions seen on the internet for Spyware Doctor and other “free” spyware removal tools, programs or whatever they’re called, I downloaded Spyware Doctor and ran a scan. It did in fact locate IS2010 along with other garbage and to my shock (sarcastic) in order to have it removed I have to pay…what happened to the “free” removal. Now that my computer is totally disabled I am beginning to think that the J-O’s that advertise their “free” removal tools, programs and such are the same tools that are creating the havoc in the first place. To the creator of spyware, malware and future ware’s not yet named I have four numbers for you to figure out…7625!

  26. MARIAH MARIAH Says:

i know how u feel and this is just one of the retarded fake spyware stuff …there was one that almost took me a year to get off becus nothing worked… and then this thing poped up wen i was on the internet and it attomaticly downloaded!!!!!and im still trying to get it off maybe this will work??? and if it doesnt (im positive it will!!) then try AVG its helping me a little

  28. Richard Richard Says:

This is how I was able to get it off my son’s computer. First, I went to start, then search, and found where the program was and deleted the 2 shortcuts. You can’t delete the file because it is running, task manager will not open, 2010 shuts it down. I then went into the settings on 2010, unclicked the “run on launch” box, then clicked on “save settings”. I rebooted the computer and downloaded Ad Aware, the free version. I was then able to delete the file and after deleting it from the recycle bin, I ran system restore to make sure no remnants of the file remained. I use AVG Free, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Ad Aware on my computers and they are some of the best freeware you can get. Hope this helps.

I have just removed the virus from my daughter’s computer. She has a dual boot system and now will be using Ubuntu 9.1 when she is on the internet. I have used Ubuntu for nearly two years without any problems with viruses. Run a dual boot system and if Windows goes down, you can use Ubuntu (Linux) instead.

  33. MalwareHater MalwareHater Says:

Depending on how bad you are infected is what you have to do, you don’t have to re-install your OS. if you tried what is listed and it did not work then do a search on how to roll back your hard drive from another computer, this is not simple but can save all your data/files. These people just want a credit card # and have got many, if you can’t do this yourself look for a repair shop that can. These people are smart and I battle this most everyday, most all computers they win the battle yet I win the war and remove this crap from them. If you ever see this just hit the power button and make my job easier, the more you try the harder it is for me to remove. I have found that Avast and a paid MalwareBytes work great. One without both will not stop it though. I know music, video, and porn are main sources of this, if you want to do that use protection, otherwise you will get this or many others out there, and most free programs that aren’t always running will not protect you, just mho.

you can tell there are a lot of civilized westerners commenting here by the use of the word “terrorist” to describe these “evil villains”. such vernacular is then, of course, followed by all the violent things they would like to do to these terrible people. i like to think it is sort of fitting that such ignorant people are getting victimized, but i know it will only continue to make your uninformed views worse than those of your dreaded enemies. have fun watching fox news… and see you on the next epidemic thread – you’ll surely be getting super internet security 2011 as soon as it is released :)

  38. Debby Debby Says:

I have spent 5 days trying to get rid of this virus – even adaware and defender now believe it to be “good” software and I can see it being passed by as they run their scans. Last night I finally got online again to try to download another spyware remover and I was greeted by a message from internet provider (brighthouse) that I am being blocked because they are getting complaints that my system is spamming from my modem. My solution was to order another computer and to never let my stepdaughter use facebook on my computer or to let my husband open emails from his navy friends (they are mostly old and computer stupid). I’ve been using computers since the 70’s and have never had a problem like this. By the way – don’t think that CA is providing any real protection for you because they don’t. This just slid on past that virus protection as well as windows firewall and defender. This is a truly insidious piece of work and I can’t wait for some of you to go and get’em.

I am a Microsoft certified tech. Within the last three days, I’ve had six of my clients are get infected with this bug. All have the same thing, this Internet Security 2010.

I’ve used every trick in my book thus far. I’ve removed with the client’s a/v software, using everything from AVG to Avast, to Norton Internet Security, to McAfee Security. This thing has slipped in under the radar to all of them. Whatever this thing is, it knows how to cripple the computer.

I’ve gone into Safe Mode, removed it from the msconfig file, removed entries from the registry, managaged to get Task Manager up and running, stop the file, kill the file, and yet when it reboots, the flippin’ thing is back.

Sorry to say, the only way I’ve found thus far to remove it is to do a Factory Restore. Only then can you be certain you’ve removed all traces. For those that don’t want to do that, I wish you the best of luck.

Hope this saves you some time.

    J.

WTF, I can’t believe that people do this just because. I have been trying the whole day to get rid of this. I hope they die for trying to kill my computer. I should have checked out the web cite before buying 2010 Security but the computer would not let me do anything else. I knew 3 years for that prices was to good to be true.

  43. Patriot Patriot Says:

I downloaded UNHACKME free from cnet.com Although it did not entirely remove the IS 2010 crap it kept it “entertained” long enough for me to pull off important files. I will eventually have to reformat. UNHACKME checks for virus/trojans at the boot and did a pretty good job! Not perfect…my administrator priveleges remain unavailable (I cannot restore), but, it is better than what I had!!!
