FastDisk or Fast Disk is a rogue system optimization and defragmentation tool. FastDisk was created by criminals and is designed to convince users that their systems have problems that can only be fixed with its full version. FastDisk is from a long line of fake optimization programs including MyDisk, HDD Ok and Disk Ok. FastDisk can enter a PC with the help of Trojans, fake online scanners or drive-by downloads. Once inside a system FastDisk will block a victim’s access to registry editor, task manager and other programs. Then the rogueware will display numerous error alerts and warnings claiming to detect errors in the GPU, RAM and hard drive. The errors detected by FastDisk are false and should not be trusted. Additionally, users should never follow the recommendation to purchase the full version of FastDisk; this rogue is not able to detect or fix any system errors. Remove FastDisk from your PC promptly after detection to avoid further damage to your PC.
