(English) How to Run SpyHunter in Safe Mode

Safe Mode is a special way to start the Windows Operating System that disables most of the features and drivers.

You can start your computer in safe mode using 2 different methods, the F8 Key Method and System Configuration Utility.

Below, you will find how to start your system in Safe Mode using the F8 Key Method.

To start the computer on safe mode:

  1. You must print these instructions before continuing, save your open documents and close all the open applications as your system will shut down in step 2.
  2. Click Start, click Shutdown, and then, in the drop-down list, click Shut down.
  3. In the Shutdown Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.
  4. The computer will shut down and restart. When you see the first screen (should be a black screen with white text) or if you see the message “Please select the operating system to start”, press F8.
  5. Note: If you see the screen with the windows logo, you went too far and if so, you need to wait until the computer starts in Normal Mode and go back to Step 2.

  6. You should see the options below. The options vary with the version of your Windows that you have installed in your computer.

    Startup options

    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode with Networking
    Last Known Good Configuration

  7. Use the arrow keys to highlight “Safe Mode”, and then press ENTER.

Running Spy Hunter in Safe Mode:

Spy Hunter will not automatically start on Safe Mode, even if you have set it up for that. You need to locate the Spy Hunter Icon on your desktop and double click it.

When you have the SpyHunter program open:

  1. Click on the SpyHunter Scanner tab located in the SpyHunter side menu.
  2. Click on Start Scan.
  3. When the scan is complete, click on Start Remove.
  4. When the removal process is done, repeat Steps 1 and 2 one more time. Once you have finished Step 2 for the second time, reboot the computer.
  5. Note: You don’t need to repeat the scan more than twice. The reason why we advise the customers to run the scan twice is just to make sure that there’s nothing remaining.

  6. Let the computer restart on “Normal Mode”. DO NOT Choose “Safe Mode” again. If prompted, choose the option “Start Windows Normally” or “Normal”.
  7. Once you are back on normal mode, please run SpyHunter one more time.
  8. If SpyHunter still detects parasites in the scan, please follow the instructions on the link below to send us a support log and report what’s left to our technical support team so that we can provide you with a fix to remove the leftover items.

How to Send a Support Log.

If the method above does not work, please try to reboot your computer using the System Configuration Utility.
