The CouponThing shopping helper is a product of Ions Media Ltd. that specializes in developing advertising solutions and help freeware developers monetize their apps. As you may suspect, the CouponThing app is an adware that is a member of the InstallCore family of adware. The ads by CouponThing may be displayed as scrollable panels on the right and left side of your desktop. Also, the CouponThing adware may use tracking cookies, DOM storage data, and Web beacons to build an advertising profile about you and show related deals and offers. Security investigators note that the CouponThing adware may use XML, CRX, XPI, BHO, and DLL file structure to alter the behavior of a wide range of Web browsers that run on the Gecko, Trident, and WebKit rendering engines.
